In the Document phase of the NSK we take what we captured in Dictate the Narrative and turn it into our blueprint. Not a dusty business plan. A living document that says:

  • Here’s the future we see.

  • Here’s the mission we’re on.

  • Here’s how we’re going to get there.

Once we have that:

  • Leadership → Go from being passengers on our own projects, to being the drivers.

  • Alignment → Same vision from collaborators, supporters, to AI prompting.

  • Momentum → Stop spinning in circles and move with confidence.

This isn’t the beginning of endless documentation. It’s The Blueprint.

Clarify Vision, Mission, and Strategy

  • Vision → the world we’re trying to create

  • Mission → the role we play in making it real

  • Strategy → the focused path that connects today’s steps with tomorrow’s outcome

Anchor our Decisions

  • Justifiable → Can we explain why we’re doing this?

  • Observable → Can others see the evidence?

  • Auditable → Can we trace decisions back to their origin?

This keeps the Document lean, but also bulletproof against drift.

A Solid Document Let’s Us Know

  • Can someone new to the project read and “get it” in under 5 minutes?

  • Does the mission feel like a compass, not a slogan?

  • Are trade-offs and priorities visible, not hidden?

  • Have we built in a “revisit date” to keep the document alive?

The Document phase is where vision hardens into actionable plans. The secure reference point for the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

See how it all flows together.
